Population Geneticist, Biological Anthropologist

My work explores how human genetic adaptations to diet and the environment are linked with modern health outcomes across worldwide populations.

I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher in the UCLA Anthropology Department and Quantitative and Bioscience Institute.

research program

How did humans evolve in response to their environments, and how do human-environmental interactions affect genetic variation in human populations?

Humans have adapted to some of the most challenging environments on earth. These adaptations have resulted in unique population variation.

Understanding this unique population variation can paint a picture for how the past, present, and future are intertwined—

—and contribute to medically relevant research by identifying novel genetic variation.

Methods Approach

I work to bridge genotype-phenotype associations through a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing genomic, physiological, and anthropological methods.
